Sonshine Christian Children’s CenterA significant ministry of the church in the community is the Sonshine Christian Children’s Center which offers daycare and pre-school education for children ages 2 months to 4 years, in a caring and inspiring spirit. Snacks are provided for the children. For information please contact the Director Ellen Kraft at 831-8349.

Nursery CareOn Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. until after worship (12:00noon) we offer nursery care for children infants – 2 years of age with a professional-caregiver. The nursery is located off the Narthex, at the back of the Sanctuary.

Infants are welcome to stay in worship with their parents, if so desired.Sunday school

Elementary school and middle school children attend worship with their parents at 10:30a.m.each Sunday through the time of the “Conversation with Children”. At about 10:50 a.m. they depart for classes with teachers. Parents may volunteer to teach classes or help teachers in class rooms… For further information speak with our Christian Education Ministry. The children present a Christmas Pageant on third Sunday of December and join in the Caroling wagon (singing to that sick and shut-ins) during the advent season.

Short Classes and Speakers
NUMC offers occasional short series of classes on weekdays and/or evenings on various topics during the week. From Elder care to Arthritis, to United Methodism.

Retreats and Prayer Opportunities

Our sanctuary, Upper Room (chapel), and Faith Prayer Chapel are open 7:30 A< - 6:30 PM for for prayer. Wednesday mornings 6:30 – 8:00 am and Wednesday mid-day 12:00 noon – 1:00pm, Pastor Janet is available in the Faith Payer Chapel for prayer. Retreats are held occasionally at such places as the Covenant of St. Brigitta in Darien.
